What is Facelift Surgery?
A Facelift is a cosmetic surgery used to provide a more youthful facial appearance. It reduces wrinkles, fine lines, and scars, revitalizes skin tone and texture, and restores the glow and clarity of the skin—refreshing a dull, lifeless complexion.
If you’re considering addressing the effects of aging on your face and neck, a facelift in Thailand could be the solution you’re looking for. Also known as Rhytidectomy, it is a cosmetic procedure aimed at improving visible signs of aging in these areas.
Many people wonder, “Is it time for a facelift?”
A facelift is not for everyone—it is most suitable for individuals with noticeable sagging that affects facial structure and confidence.
Those who feel their face is aging faster than expected.
Those with sagging cheeks, deep nasolabial folds, and changes in facial contour.
Those who are slim but have a double chin or loose skin due to sagging.
Those who have had HIFU, Ultherapy, or fillers, but find the results are no longer long-lasting.
Why is Deep SMAS Important in Facelift Surgery?
In many traditional procedures, lifting only the skin may provide temporary improvement. A Deep SMAS facelift goes beyond the surface by lifting and repositioning the deeper structural layer of the face.
This advanced facelift technique offers:
Long-lasting results compared to skin-only lifting
A natural-looking outcome without a tight or overdone appearance
Improved facial structure and contour
Better correction of sagging in the mid-face and jawline

Because the SMAS layer plays a key role in facial support and movement, repositioning it allows for true facial rejuvenation—restoring firmness, elasticity, and a more youthful, refreshed appearance.
What This Facelift Can Improve
- Sagging skin and volume loss.
- Deep nasolabial folds and visible wrinkles.
- Jawline definition and submental fullness.
- Signs of aging and a fatigued appearance.

What is DCH FACE YOUNG
The FACE YOUNG Facelift is a comprehensive surgical lifting procedure designed to tighten loose skin and muscles affected by aging. It lifts the entire face—from the upper face and midface to the lower face and all the way down to the neck.
By adjusting the tension in the underlying muscle layers, this method restores a smooth, firm, and youthful look. Each treatment is customized to the patient’s individual condition for a balanced, natural-looking result—neither overdone nor under-corrected.
Step-by-Step Facelift Procedure
A comprehensive guide to facelift surgery in Thailand. Below is a detailed overview of the facelift techniques, designed to lift sagging skin, tighten deep facial structures, and restore a naturally youthful contour.

Technique 1 · Mini Facelift
Small incisions on both sides of the face, from the temples down to the upper part of the ears. Through these, the surgeon lifts and tightens the skin and underlying SMAS layer in the lower face. Ideal for mild sagging, particularly around the nasolabial folds—enhancing firmness and smoothing facial contours.

Technique 2 · Full Facelift
A more extensive procedure lifting both skin and deeper tissue layers across the entire face. Incisions are made in front of the ears, around the earlobes, up to the temples, and toward the neck. Excess tissue is removed and everything repositioned for a firmer, smoother look—perfect for moderate to severe sagging with long-lasting results.

Technique 3 · Neck Lift Surgery
Targets sagging skin and tissue in the neck via small incisions behind the ears and under the chin. It also addresses double chins and excess neck fat, and is often performed alongside a full facelift for a more defined, youthful contour, with incisions discreetly hidden.
Why is it important to lift deep into the SMAS layer?
A facelift is a popular procedure because it restores a youthful appearance with noticeable results. But to achieve the best outcome, the facelift must reach the SMAS (Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System) layer.
What is SMAS?
Lifting only the skin layer may provide temporary results that are not sustainable, while reaching the SMAS layer helps tighten and lift the face more deeply for longer-lasting results. Because SMAS controls the movement of the facial muscles, lifting and re-arranging it restores firmness and elasticity, making the face look youthful and refreshed.

Benefits of lifting to the SMAS layer
- Long-lasting results: lifting the SMAS layer gives a more durable outcome than lifting skin alone, maintaining a youthful appearance for years.
- Natural look: re-arranging the muscle layers makes results appear natural, reducing the risk of overly tight or unnatural skin.
- Comprehensive rejuvenation: the face is rejuvenated in every dimension—skin tightening and muscle lifting—for a youthful look from the inside out.

Benefits of DCH FACE YOUNG Facelift

Frequently Asked Questions
You may experience swelling after surgery — the doctor will prescribe medication, apply cold compresses, and recommend sleeping with your head elevated for the first ~3 days. Keep your head elevated to reduce swelling and bruising, wait before washing your hair (especially near the scalp incision), maintain a healthy weight, avoid heavy exercise for at least 4 weeks, and follow the doctor’s wound-care and medication advice to minimize infection and speed recovery.
Avoid touching or picking at the incision area and keep it clean to prevent infection. If you notice abnormal swelling, redness, or bleeding, consult the surgeon immediately. Do not self-prescribe medications, as it could worsen the situation.
Recovery generally takes 1–2 weeks for the body to heal and reduce swelling and bruising. Swelling and bruising are visible in the first week (wear a supportive facial garment); over the next month it gradually subsides. Normal activities can resume after 2–3 weeks, avoiding trauma to the face. Complete healing typically takes 6 months.
Facelift results typically last 7–10 years, depending on age, skin condition, post-surgery care, and daily habits. A facelift cannot stop aging but slows the process and restores a youthful appearance. After 7–10 years, another facelift consultation can be considered.
Use skincare suited to your skin type and protect your skin from the sun; eat a healthy, antioxidant-rich diet; consider regular collagen-stimulating treatments and facial massage for circulation; and avoid factors that accelerate aging such as smoking, excessive alcohol, and stress.
